Celebrates First Anniversary, Adds New Classes
The Las Vegas Transportation Academy, owned and operated
by David Hartson, will celebrate its first anniversary
next month. Since its inception, the Academy has instructed
more than 100 students.
The Academy introduced a brand-new class this past January
for CDL permit training class B. “There is a large demand
for CDL drivers in the Las Vegas market. Passing the
300-question test to get the permit is the first step—and
it is not easy,” says Hartson. “The CDL handbook in
Nevada has 213 pages of terms, information, and instruction
that makes passing the test a challenge. I have developed
a simple eight-hour course to make the whole experience
understandable. I firmly believe that a student should
be able to go down to the DMV and pass the test the
next morning after the course.” A full schedule of classes
can be found on the Academy’s website at www.lasvegasta.com.
One of Hartson’s success stories has been Paul Brown.
Brown, who was an architect for 27 years and was tired
of sitting behind a desk all day, was hired just two
days after completing the course and has accelerated
quickly to become a respected chauffeur at Luxury Vegas
Transportation, a local company. “Paul is a great example
on how understanding the job has put him on top,” says
Hartson.
