MAD Introduces New Buses
Midwest Automotive Designs (MAD) recently introduced an economically priced bus line for operators looking to break into or increase their bus work. One of the two new buses, the 39’ Titan, is available for order now. A second bus, the 33’ Titan, will be introduced this fall.
The larger of the Titans features a 6.6L Duramax diesel engine with an Allison transmission, and it can seat up to 36 people with luggage and includes a restroom. “We wanted to offer a bus that would appeal to all kinds of markets,” says Jack Chalmers, cofounder/vice president of Midwest. The smaller Titan is considered an entry-level bus, according to Chalmers.
Both party buses are custom built within the specifications of the customer. Some upgrades include fiber optics, a wood floor, leather seats, stainless steel, and a custom-designed Alpine stereo system, which was tweaked and customized by Alpine engineers for Midwest. The bus also has a sleek, all-black exterior. According to Chalmers, the bus has a nicer look for the limousine user, which gives it a broad appeal.
The new bus line complements its already successful 37' Freightliner Apollo bus.
